Assurance of God’s Salvation and Being Adopted into His Family
Prepared by Dr. James Dennis C. Gumpal, M.D., J.D.
One of the greatest promises in the Bible is the assurance of salvation and adoption into God’s family when we put our faith and trust in Him through Jesus Christ. This isn’t based on our good deeds or how perfect we are, but on God’s love and grace.
When we believe in Jesus and trust in His sacrifice for our sins, we receive forgiveness and the gift of eternal life. Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works so that no one can boast.” Salvation is a free gift, and all we need to do is accept it through faith.
Not only does God save us, but He welcomes us as His children.
Romans 8:15 says,
“The Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’”
This means that when we trust in Jesus, we are adopted into God's family. We are no longer distant from Him but are loved, accepted, and secure as His children.
This new relationship with God transforms our lives and gives us peace, knowing that we belong to Him forever. No matter our past mistakes or failures, we can be confident in God's love and the eternal security of our salvation.
John 1:12 reminds us,
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
Today, if you place your trust in Jesus, you can be assured of your salvation and your place in God’s family. You are loved, forgiven, and secure in Him.
For any queries you may have, I will be glad to hear from you.
